Since Jeffrey Pang introduced the Skyva about a year ago, this Yo-Yo hasn’t stopped being selling and selling and selling. Of course, no wonder, the Skyva is a great, great Yo-Yo, but the brains behind this project have gone a step further because they have made the ‘same’ Yo-Yo in aluminum 6061. Keep reading and I’ll get to the deets if you know what I mean!
Changing the material of the Yo-Yo whilst keeping the same design isn’t an easy task. It takes some real engineering job because the weight distribution is influenced by the material. So much so, that they have been working on this Metal Skyva for more than 6 months, an incredible feat!
But not all you see is Aluminum here, let me explain. The Skyva introduced a new concept called 'FingerSpin', remember? Okay, of course this new version made of aluminum maintains the same concept, but from a technical point of view, one of the enemies of 'FingerSpin' style is the friction between your finger and the hub, so these guys had to look for another material that maintained the longest 'FingerSpin' ever imagined. Can you guess the new material already? Exactly, the outer faces of the Yo-Yo have been made out of Delrin, and my friend, the result couldn’t be better… :-O
The final finish of the Metal Skyva has been taken to another level to achieve the finest and most premium feel you could ever imagine. That’s why it’s clear that Jeffrey Pang is the brains behind this Yo-Yo. His trademark is "The most premium you can buy" holds very true once again. You’ll understand all of this when you have your Metal Skyva in your hands though.
